Investment Director

Work directly with the Principals to develop investment research, formulate investment recommendations, and manage portfolio exposures across public and private markets. This is a hands-on role in a lean single-family office, with a focus on long-term capital allocation and the technologies shaping the next investment cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead thematic, sector, and company research, with particular attention to AI infrastructure, semiconductors, enterprise technology, and global market developments.
  • Assess investment opportunities through financial analysis, valuation, scenario testing, and commercial due diligence; present clear investment theses, risks, and recommendations to the Principals.
  • Translate research into portfolio construction and asset allocation proposals, including position sizing, concentration, liquidity, and downside risk considerations.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, underlying business developments, and changes to investment theses; recommend rebalancing, follow-on investments, or exits where appropriate.
  • Evaluate external fund managers and private-market opportunities, and coordinate due diligence with banks, advisers, and other investment counterparties.
  • Maintain disciplined investment documentation and regular portfolio reviews, working with operations and compliance colleagues on approved investment decisions.

Qualifications

  • Relevant investment experience in asset management, a family office, private equity, venture capital, or investment research, with evidence of independent judgment and responsibility for investment recommendations.
  • Strong fundamental research, financial modeling, and valuation skills, with the ability to distinguish a compelling technology narrative from a sound investment case.
  • A practical understanding of portfolio construction, risk management, and the different liquidity and underwriting requirements of public and private investments.
  • Intellectual curiosity about technology and global markets, and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in concise investment memoranda and discussions.
  • Professional communication skills in English and Mandarin for collaboration with the Principals and external counterparties.
  • Integrity, discretion, and a hands-on approach, with the ability to work independently and constructively challenge assumptions in a lean team.
